Overweight students at university in Pennsylvania told to take fitness class or risk diplomas

PHILADELPHIA – A Pennsylvania university’s requirement that overweight undergraduates take a fitness course to receive their degrees has raised the hackles of students and the eyebrows of health and legal experts.

Officials at historically black Lincoln University said Friday that the school is simply concerned about high rates of obesity and diabetes, especially in the African-American community. (full article here)

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A billboard showing President Barack Obama wearing a turban has sparked a lot of attention at the Wheat Ridge used car dealership that put it up

The billboard shows a cartoonish Obama grinning, wearing a turban and says, “PRESIDENT or JIHAD?”

Underneath the presi More..dent’s image is a big yellow square with the phrase, “BIRTH CERTIFICATE” in red letters and then “PROVE IT!”

“WAKE UP AMERICA! REMEMBER FT. HOOD!” appear on the bottom. The ad belongs to the Wolf Automotive car dealership and is visible from Interstate 70.

Dealership owner Phil Wolf said putting the sign up was an act of patriotism.

“I’m just passionate about America,” said Wolf, a member of the “birther” movement, which questions Mr. Obama’s birth place. “I’m asking a question,” he added. “What is he? I don’t think he’s an American, so what is he?”

Wolf said he does not believe the billboard is racist, but conservatives and liberals are calling for Wolf to take the sign down.

“I think it would be good judgement on the part of the people who put up the billboard to take it down,” said Dave Kopel, Research Director at the conservative Independence Institute. “There’s lots of things I’d criticize President Obama for, but I think it’s ridiculous to say he might be a jihadi.”

“This billboard is an example of hateful stereotyping,” said Anti-Defamation League spokeswoman Joyce Rubin.

The left-leaning advocacy group MoveOn.org and ProgressNow Colorado called the billboard racist and vowed to boycott businesses owned by Wolf Automotive Group until the billboard is removed.

Cop Tasers Girl For Resisting Bedtime

The local police chief in Ozark, Arkansas is standing behind one of his officers who tasered a 10-year-old girl who was refusing to go to bed.

The bizarre story is laid out in a police incident report obtained by website The Smoking Gun.

Officer Dustin Bradshaw was called to the home by a woman complaining that her daughter was being unruly and refusing to go to sleep. Bradshaw wrote that when he arrived at the home, he found Kiara Medlock “balled up in (sic) the floor crying and screaming.”

After watching her mother attempt to get Kiara into the bathtub with little success, Bradshaw took the girl into the living room and threatened her with jail. That didn’t settle things down. At some point, Bradshaw claims Kiara’s mother told him to “taser her if I needed to.”

Bradshaw then tried to handcuff Kiara. But he couldn’t manage that either.

To hear Bradshaw tell it, he was now in the midst of a full-on brawl on the living-room floor with Kiara, a Grade 5 student. The 65-pounder was “verbally combative … struck me with her legs and feet in the groin,” Bradshaw wrote.

That’s when he reached for his holster and delivered a “very very (sic) brief drive stun to her back with my taser.”

Unsurprisingly, Kiara’s struggling stopped immediately. Bradshaw then cuffed her and carried her to his squad car, since she could no longer walk.

The incident hit the news when Kiara’s father, Anthony Medlock, took exception. Medlock does not live with Kiara’s mother.

“I want to know how the heck in God’s green earth can they get away with this … If you can’t pick the kid up and take her to your car, handcuff her, then I don’t think you need to be an officer,” Medlock told local Ozark 40/29 news. He said his daughter has shown signs of emotional issues, but she “doesn’t deserve to be treated like a dog.”

The local police chief stood behind Bradshaw and his decision.

“He had no other choice. He had to get the child under control,” said Ozark police Chief Jim Noggle.

No disciplinary action is pending against Bradshaw. However, the Associated Press has reported that the FBI has dispatched agents to Arkansas to investigate.

Medlock said he will attempt to gain sole custody of his daughter.

How Will We React

Hello all,

I watched a great film the other night, “Ghandi”. I mention this only because we have a reached a point in history which far surpasses what Ghandi saw when he began his quest. But, we to are at a point where non-compliance may be our only avenue in order to regain control over our rogue government. We might as well face it, it is not going to get any easier.

Pastor David Manning of the ATLAH Church in Harlem, New York was visited recently by the CIA and NYPD detectives and questioned about his programs, attacking as Rev. Manning likes to refer to him as, “The Long Legged Mack Daddy Barack Hussein Obama”. The reverend has spoken out about the birther issue and stated that white people have had enough and are going to rise up, and that he would join them. The concern lies with the allegations that Rev. Manning might be trying to incite violence.

This man is doing one thing and one thing only, exercising his first amendment right to free speech. That is the real issue with the CIA’s visit. And since Manning is a small fish in a big pond of talk show hosts who speak out against Obama, and the whole system in Washington, he is an easy target. So to arrest him and imprison him could be the biggest mistake these Gestapo goons could make.

It is apparent that these guys didn’t really do their homework. This man has a large following who will stir up a ruckus if he is arrested. And then there is the other side of the coin. As Rev. Manning explained on the Alex Jones show on Thursday, this will bring the whole birther issue to the table once again. But, instead of just the issue over the existence of a piece of paper, a human being will be the defendant. This could be a lot harder for the courts to sweep under the rug.

If the film “Ghandi” is historically correct, then we all will have our own battles as we quest for the restoration of our beloved republic. It may be a confrontation with one person, or a crowd, or a smart aleck cop who’s having a bad day. How we react to “them” will dictate their reaction to us. I’m not suggesting anyone get themselves arrested or beaten, or both. But, exercise your right to free speech and your rights as a sovereign individual.

Shortly before 8:00 Tuesday morning, a concerned parent visited the elementary school at West-Mont Christian Academy in North Coventry, Pennsylvania. After checking in at the desk, the teacher was escorted to the lobby to wait for his child’s kindergarten teacher.

At some point, the parent made the “mistake” of walking upstairs to look at some of the student-produced artwork. Eventually the teacher arrived and had a “fruitful” discussion with the parent, who left.

Unfortunately, the teacher who had been the parent’s original escort panicked when the visitor couldn’t be found. The administration was notified, and at around 8:30 a.m. the children were herded into the gym, and lockdown protocols went into effect.

“Police called in the Chesmont Emergency Response Team [ERT], who were training Tuesday in the township, to assist in clearing the building,” reported the Chester County, PA Daily Local. It’s not clear whether the ERT — a paramilitary police unit equipped with Pentagon-issued toys — arrived in their nifty “Peacekeeper” armored vehicle.

U.S. Sen. Graham Censured By Charleston County GOP

CHARLESTON — Republicans in Charleston County censured their own U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, saying he puts bipartisanship before the party on issues like climate change.

“U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in the name of bipartisanship continues to weaken the Republican brand and tarnish the ideals of freedom, rule of law and fiscal conservatism,” according to a resolution passed Monday.

Graham has often reached across the aisle on various issues. The resolution notes Graham supported the bank bailout and “has shown a condescending attitude toward his constituents” opposing his stance on amnesty for illegal aliens.
